Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo is a sprawling city that connects deep Japanese tradition with modernity and high tech. From its mouth-watering food to its beautiful architecture and parks, the Japanese capital city truly has something for any kind of traveler.

We had a very short time in this mega city. Unfortunately not being able so see it all.

Taxis are very expensive, public transportation is great and inexpensive but it takes time and planning.

We had an amazing time even though it was such a short visit. We hope to be back and spend more time here for sure.

On our second day in the morning we went to see the Sensō-ji Temple.

Sensoji is perhaps the most famous and photographed of Tokyo's temples. It is the oldest Buddhist temple in the capital, and the five-story pagoda, trails of incense and vast eaves will take you back to a Tokyo of time gone by.

The shopping street leading to Sensoji Temple, known as Nakamise-dori, is lined with shops selling crafts, souvenirs and plenty of sweet and savory snacks.

We had a matcha ice-cream there, matcha latte and matcha beer.

We took a rickshaw ride around the Asakusa and Sensoji Temple.

This was so much fun!

Next attraction of the day was Tokyo Skytree.

Visible from all corners of the entire city, the Tokyo Skytree stands tall against the backdrop of the Tokyo skyline.

The views are amazing and you can easily spend a couple of hours there.

After that we had to take a cab back to Yokohama, to the ship.
