3 days at sea.

Two months into our vayage.
The end of the first segment of the Ultimate World Cruise is near.

We left South America and we continue our journey up the west coast of America’s. Our next two stops are Mexico and then Los Angeles, California. Then my long-awaited Hawaii 🥰 Can’t wait for that one. It’s been on my bucket list for years. The funny thing is, I wanted to go there one year for my birthday but we will arrive in Hawaii on Artur’s birthday!!! I’m super stoked anyways 🥰
Meanwhile, we learned today from our captain that our itinerary will change once again. Chaos on Red Sea is disrupting all the cruises as well as the cargo ships.  We will avoid the Red Sea and Suez Canal altogether.
Swathes of tanker owners,  container shipping operators and cruise lines have now announced a suspension of Red Sea voyages due to the security risks transiting the trade chokepoint with many choosing to take the take the longer route around the Cape of Good Hope.
It’s going to be interesting how all this will affect us.
We already missed several ports like Odessa, Ukraine, St. Petersburg, Russia, Ashod, Jerusalem. We missed the Falkland Islands because of weather conditions, we missed French Guiana Devils Island for the same reason, Nicaragua, Ecuador. We never went to Machu Picchu because of the strikes etc. It will be interesting observing how the world situation develops and how that will affect us.
As for now I’m enjoying higher temperatures and nice, sunny weather before we arrive in Mexico where it is at the moment little colder.
