Day 79/274

Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia
White sand beaches, translucent blue lagoons, over-water bungalows and people snorkeling among tropical fish, that’s what I imagined about Tahiti. It’s nothing like Moorea. Tahiti feels more like a city than a tropical island.
On Tahiti we didn’t go to the beach. We visited Grottes De Mara'a, the water gardens of Vaipahi, The Arahurahu marae, Papeete Catholic Cathedral, Presidential Palace and other scenic view points.
The locals are very warm, welcoming and friendly people.
We had a wonderful time here and would love to come back and visit Bora Bora one day.
“Ia Ora Na” means hello
“Mauruuru” means thank you in Tahitian
In the evening we had local artists coming on board to perform for us.
The folkloric show was the best so far from them all imo.
