Hong Kong, China Day 1 (morning excursion)
Hong Kong is thriving metropolis known for its towering skyscrapers, vibrant street markets, and rich cultural heritage. It's also the world's third-largest international financial center, with low taxes.
It’s full of ancient and modern architecture, and best dim sum.
We had two full days in Hong Kong, and the time flew by. There’s so much to explore, and so much to do. Really great place to go out at night. City that never sleeps.
We started the first day with drive to Tung Chung station where we took the cable car to visit the Buddha.
The cable car ride took us 25 min. to Ngong Ping mountain (520 meters above sea level). Then we walked 268 steps to visit the Buddha. We visited the museum inside the Buddha’s belly we learned about history of Chinese religion. We toured the Ngong Ping village and visited the Po Lin monastery (1902) and the Ten Thousand Buddhas Temple.
We drove the bus to fishing village with stilt houses - some of them hundreds of years old.
Then we took a boat to see the Hong Kong Macau - Zhuhai bridge. Longest bridge in the world 55 km. long.
We visited Kwan Tai Temple (1488) and after that we had lunch at the UNESCO Heritage hotel with spectacular view on the bay.
